  • Very good build quality even compared to gaming laptop priced higher.
  • No schmaltz styling – no glam monster looks, just a plain solid design.
  • Many customization option. Noteworthy are the high quality 95% Gamut Color FullHD for low price (+75$) and the GPU upgrade – GTX 675M / GTX 680M and Radeon 7970M for very reasonable price.
  • backlit illuminated keyboard.
  • Aggersive pricing – best performance per price ratio.
  • Easily upgradable. You can take it apart quite easily and add things yourself.
  • Good battery running times when surfing with WiFi even when equipped with the high power consuming GTX 675M.
  • More than enough connection ports including 2 USB 3.0 ports, display port, HDMI, DVI and eSata.

  • Currently, when configured with the Radeon 7970M, there is no way to disable AMD’s ‘Enduro’ graphics switching system which causes a significant performance hit when gaming due to poor switching mechanism, switching back to the integrated GPU while gaming.
  • High noise levels – also compared to other laptops.
  • Temperatures aren’t great. Some competitors make it better.
  • No two HDD bays like its big brother NP9170 (but you can install one in the optical bay or an mSata drive)
  • Base configuration includes no OS which might add to the cost for some.
